San Miguel de Allende now a World Heritage Site

Our town is alive with excitement! On Monday it was announced that San Miguel de Allende, Mexico,  was awarded the honor of being named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There were fireworks in the main square. The center was packed with people celebrating. Like all small towns in Mexico, the residents listen to the radio two or three times a day for local news.  So it was only about five hours after the announcement was made in Canada that San Mgiuel was alive with fireworks, sparklers, musicians, dancing, and firecrackers! It felt as if the whole town was there!

I am hoping that this honor brings with it financial benefits to relieve the stress on the residents of this town who have a very hard time finding the money to feed, cloth and educate their children.

Tomorrow…an interview on The Expat Show

The Expat Show is a really interesting radio program for anyone interested in alternative ways of living. The host, Tai Aquirre, called David and me for an interview and tomorrow it can be heard at: http://www.theexpatshow.com/thisweek.asp?id=76

It includes information about San Miguel de Allende, my film, and general ideas/feelings about living in a foreign country.
