LOST and FOUND in MEXICO shown in its first European film festival!
David and I flew to Berlin so that we could be in attendance for the first screening of my film in Europe. The Globians Film Festival actually has two festivals–one in Potsdam in August and another in Berlin in September. I had no idea how the film would play to a German audience. Would they relate? Would they “get” it? I shouldn’t have been concerned. The audience consisted of people from Ireland, Nigeria, England, Amsterdam, France, Italy, and, of course, Germany. They were very appreciative and many of them circled around me afterwards and wanted to talk about what arose in them from watching the film. The Nigerians couldn’t get over how Lost and Found in Mexico had spoken the exact feelings that they have as expats in Germany. We talked until the director of the festival, Joachim Polzner, finally escorted us to the exit as it was midnight and he wanted to close up! It was a very gratifying experience.
